CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

A call for abstracts for ADW 2024 is also open to all NPBDN members. The abstract should be a maximum of 350 words (not including title, authors or organisations), and be submitted by no later than 11.30pm on Monday 23 October, 2023.

The theme of ADW 2024 is “The challenges of unculturables and their vectors”. This theme will cover multiple aspects of diagnosing plant pathogen for which axenic cultivation is difficult, as well as the modes by which they are transmitted and the methods used to detect and identify these pests and pathogens. This includes all work surrounding:

  • Viruses
  • Fastidious and unculturable bacteria (liberibacters, phytoplasmas, Xylella spp., etc.)
  • Obligate fungi (rusts, powdery mildews, etc.) and oomycetes (downy mildews, Phytophthora  spp.)
  • Organisms which vector these pathogens (fungi, nematodes, arthropods)
  • Routes of transmission (grafting, tissue culture, crop management practises)
  • Methods to detect and identify these pests and pathogens (quantitative and end-point PCR, sequencing, HTS, eDNA).

If you intend to submit an abstract, please complete the necessary details via the registration button below, and email your 350-word abstract to npbdn@phau.com.au.

Don’t feel your work is captured in this theme? Please consider submitting an abstract anyway, as it may be relevant to future events.
