This is a fixed term position available for a period of 24 months. The work location for this position is Horsham with hybrid work arrangements available. Postdoc position in plant virus detection and characterization (HTS, bioinformatics & bioassays) at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech – Belgium

The research will focus on improving the detection and characterization of plant viruses using Nanopore high-throughput sequencing technology (MinION and Flongle) and greenhouse trials of virus inoculation based on predictions made from artificial intelligence models developed in the laboratory. Beyond the scientific aspect, the postdoc will also develop skills in supervising young scientists (Master’s and PhD students) and in project management.
