The Annual Diagnosticians’ Workshop 2019 (ADW2019) was held in Sydney on 6-7 March 2019.
The event strengthens the National Plant Biosecurity Diagnostic Network (NPBDN) by sharing current diagnostic activities and experiences, as well as building strong connections between diagnosticians from across Australia and New Zealand.
The ADW2019 had 65 participants from all jurisdictions, the Australian Government, New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries, Scion Research, CSIRO, Sugar Research Australia, multiple universities and museums, and PHA.
Some topic highlights from the workshop were the role diagnostic capability is playing in the current citrus canker response, new diagnostic approaches for banana diseases on the Australian doorstep, Xylella diagnostic projects, lucid key development experiences, and reports on recently completed Diagnostic Residentials.
