Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Dermestidae and Khapra beetle identification workshop that was scheduled to take place at Deakin University in Burwood, Victoria from 27 – 31 May 2024, has been postponed.
Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium) remains a serious pest of stored grains, rice, oilseeds, and dried foodstuffs, and is listed as Australia’s number two National Plant Priority Pest (NPPP).
The workshop facilitators and Network Implementation Working Group are exploring alternative dates, and the workshop may be rescheduled for the second half of 2024 (subject to funding and facilitators’ availability).
NPBDN members will be notified should the workshop proceed at a future date.
