The National Varroa Mite Management Program are hosting a webinar to provide extension staff and industry development officers insights into the impacts of Varroa destructor on the honeybee and pollination dependent industries. The webinar will also include an introduction to the National Transition to Management Program and how the program is helping industries learn to live in this new state of play.

Varroa (destructor) mite was first detected in New South Wales (NSW) in June 2022, activating the largest Australian multi-agency plant biosecurity emergency response, running until February 2024 when a decision was made to move from eradication to transition to management.

During this one-hour webinar you will hear from National Varroa T2M Coordinator Tamara Prentice, and NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development bee experts.
