The Subcommittee on Plant Health Diagnostics (SPHD) is pleased to announce applications for the National Diagnostic Protocol Development are now open.

All NPBDN members are invited to submit an application to develop new National Diagnostic Protocol (NDP). A Diagnostic Protocol Development Project involves a plant biosecurity diagnostician or research scientist undertaking a project to either develop NDPs for one or more high priority pests, or to review and verify a collection of NDPs for multiple high priority pests. For more information on the National Diagnostic Protocol Development, refer to the Guidelines for Diagnostic Protocol Development Applications.

If you like further information, please contact NDP Development Project Coordinator Barbara Hall at

SPHD has provided the option to amalgamate NDP development for pests with similar biology into Diagnostic Protocol Development Projects as outlined in Appendix 1 of the Guidelines for Diagnostic Protocol Development Applications.

Reference standards which outline instructions to authors and review processes can be found here.

Applications close at 5 pm AEST on the 30 November 2018. Once completed, the Diagnostic Protocol Application Form can be submitted to the NPBDN Executive Officer at
