12:30-1:30pm ACDT (Adelaide)
Location: online, via Zoom
Please register here to receive the meeting link.
At the webinar, Ms Sarah Richmond (General Manager – Science Program, Bioplatforms Australia) and Dr Andre Zerger (Director – Atlas of Living Australia, CSIRO) will detail the evolution of the ARGA Project and provide insights into how the ARGA index meets the evolving needs of the research and policy communities. After demonstrating the ARGA index, Dr Kathryn Hall (Product Champion – ARGA Project, Atlas of Living Australia, CSIRO) will explain how ARGA fits within the data ecosystems for biodiversity and genomics data in Australia and outline the future roadmap for the application. There will be time for questions and answers (and species searches!) from the audience.
The Australian Reference Genome Atlas (ARGA) is an indexing service for aggregating, discovering, filtering and accessing complex life science data. ARGA is an NCRIS-enabled platform powered by the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA), in collaboration with Bioplatforms Australia and the Australian BioCommons, with investment from the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC). It was developed to find and access data for species relevant to Australia, meeting the needs of scientists, researchers, and policy-makers in Australia and globally. The new index being discussed in the webinar was built by the AGRA team to collate genetic and genomic data, and the associated metadata when available, from several domestics and international data repositories.
