Location
Jan Anderson Seminar Room, ground floor, RN Robertson Building Research School of Biology, Australian National University, Canberra.
Last updated
This seminar will provide an overview of recent developments in Nanopore sequencing and showcase applications across a broad range of biological disciplines. The session will include examples relevant to biodiversity, environmental genomics, and epigenetics.
Topics will include:
- De novo genome assembly, including near-T2T and T2T workflows
- Native DNA methylation analysis and epigenetics
- 16S and ITS amplicon sequencing applications
- Recent Oxford Nanopore technology updates and upcoming developments
- Applications of long-read sequencing across plants, animals, microbial communities and other research areas
The seminar will include a presentation by Steven, an introduction to the BRF long-read sequencing capabilities, time for questions and discussion, and opportunities for networking. Whether you are interested in genome assembly, metagenomics, epigenetics, biodiversity research, ancient DNA, microbial genomics, or emerging sequencing technologies, you are welcome to join.
