Annual Diagnostics and Surveillance Workshop 2022
The ADSW 2022 theme is ‘Integrated to inspire and innovate’ with three sub-themes.
The organising committee is keen to receive submissions from across the spectrum of NPBDN and PSNAP members (industry, government and research).
Sub-theme 1: Integration and innovation – cases and opportunities for bringing elements of the biosecurity system together.
- connecting surveillance and diagnostics
- reconnecting the community with science
- industry and government effectively working together
- integration of the policy and operations/technical
- bringing regional, national, and international biosecurity together.
Sub-theme 2: Inspiration and discovery of the new…
What’s on the horizon? Unique delivery systems that will inspire us such as transferable technologies and applications in plant biosecurity systems, new and innovative technologies.
Sub-theme 3: National Surveillance program updates
Could include industry-led and national programs such as National Bee Pest Surveillance Program as well as communities of practice.
Presentation options
Members will have the opportunity to present either of the following options:
- 15 min (10 min presentation and 5 min questions)
- 3 min speed talk
Virtual speaking allocations which may also be considered if unable to attend in person.

- 20 June 2022: Abstracts due
- 11 July 2022: Presenters will be notified
- 25 July 2022: Registrations due (advise whether you will be attending in person or virtually)
- 1 August 2022: Program and participants list finalised

- 30 August-1 September 2022: ADW/ASW held
- 2 September 2022: *Workshops
IMPORTANT
Final numbers at all events may be limited, depending on interest, and a balance of attendees from across the NPBDN and PSNAP will be sought. Travel support will be provided for accepted speakers.(Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment staff are not eligible for these travel funds. DAWE staff are encouraged to submit an abstract and discuss to your managers).
The ADSW2022 will conform to current COVID19-safe practises according to the Victoria’s health advice. Updated information will be provided closer to the date.
