The Biosecurity Program Coordinator delivers the Farm Biosecurity Program, which is delivered by AUSVEG in partnership with Plant Health Australia (PHA). This program aims to improve biosecurity preparedness and response mechanisms within the vegetable, potato and onion industries across Australia. The role will involve contributing to all aspects of the program including engaging with key project stakeholders, producing program communication outputs, organizing and presenting at industry focused workshops and delivering on all other project deliverables.

The Program Manager plays a central role in coordinating and managing all elements of the program, acting as the primary point of contact between partners, Hort Innovation, and industry stakeholders. VegWatch (VG22004) is a national program aimed at strengthening biosecurity preparedness and business continuity for the Australian vegetable industry funded through Hort Innovation. The program operates across three key themes: Surveillance and Diagnostics, Data and Informed Decision-Making, and Business Resilience and Continuity.

The Deputy Chief Plant Health Officer provides leadership to deliver efficient and effective biosecurity services that align with the legislation, the Northern Territory’s Biosecurity Strategy, the North Australian Biosecurity strategy, and national obligations, such as the Intergovernmental Agreement on Biosecurity. The Deputy Chief Plant Health Officer works closely with industry and the community to deliver robust and high quality biosecurity programs for the Northern Territory.

As Director, Animal and Plant Biosecurity Research and Diagnostics, you will provide full site leadership at EMAI, directing the work of around 150 staff across the Institute's diagnostics and research functions, and chairing EMAI's Biosafety Committee.
Working closely with other Directors across DPIRD, you will develop and deliver a science and research strategy that underpins the state's animal and plant biosecurity objectives and aligns with national priorities.

As Chief Plant Protection Officer, you will provide strategic direction and leadership to NSW's plant biosecurity and product integrity programs, reducing the impact of pests, diseases and residues on the state's economy, environment and community, and protecting market access for NSW producers.
You will hold delegated statutory powers as DPIRD's Hazard Owner for plant biosecurity incidents and emergencies, including the authority to issue emergency orders, establish control zones and set conditions on the movement of goods during a response.
